FBI Library Subject Research Guide
FBI Library Guide
Law enforcement has had to respond to both criminal barricade situations and active shooters, armed with both handguns and rifles, for some time now. Along with the need to respond to these types of incidents concerns over terrorist operations taking place on US soil and heavily armed cartel members engaging in actions along the border have prompted increased policing interest in both the use of snipers and counter-snipers. This research guide provides information on weaponry, training, tactics, threat force (lone wolf and organized) snipers, and other areas related to this topical area.
