Hezbollah and the Qods Force

FBI Library Guide

Hezbollah is an international terrorist organization that was founded in the early 1980s by members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) from Iran and local Shi’i groups in Southern Lebanon as a further expansion of the Islamic Revolution of 1979. This terrorist organization is greatly influenced by the dictates of the Ayatollahs in Iran, is active in the Middle East, Europe, West Africa, Latin America, and the US, and is intimately linked to the Qods Force—a special unit of the IRGC—which is heavily involved in organized criminal activities and terrorist operations, both directly and indirectly, throughout the world.
